Boho Backyard Styled Shoot
I'm going to let you in on a little secret: A lot of those gorgeous photos of weddings you see on Pinterest? Fake!
Well, not exactly fake, but staged for something called a styled shoot - which is when industry professionals come together and donate their time, services, or goods to put together a shoot to get professional, inspirational photos.
Styled shoots are a great way for professionals to show what they can do with no limits, and because we're often just creating a small scene and only need a small number of materials (i.e. place settings), we can incorporate the best of the best!
While it's wonderful creating for clients, styled shoots are a great way to show off our own personal style and flex our creative muscle.
I recently organized a small styled shoot with some amazing metro Detroit creatives, so check out the photos below and read more about what each of these vendors brought to the table!
Yours By Design is a newer event rental company in the metro Detroit area. Run by Denyé and Bobbi, these fun girls are curating a gorgeous collection of items that you can rent for your wedding or event. Instead of spending your budget on items that you have to store or resell after, you can simply borrow them from Yours By Design.
Texture plays such a big role in creating a rich, romantic-feeling environment. These gorgeous napkins and runner from Rosemarine Textiles are THE perfect addition to this tablescape to create a relaxed, effortless vibe. From her studio in Detroit, Meg creates sustainably-sourced and ethically-made plant dyed textiles, including ribbon, cloth napkins, table runners and more.
Okay, let's all just take a moment to stare at these stunning paper goods from the talented Elana Hopman of Annabel Reese. The calligraphy, the luxe paper, the gold foil - all of it could not be more perfect for this dreamy shoot. Annabel Reese specializes in custom calligraphy, invitations and paper goods for celebrations of all kinds (plus Elana is the sweetest person ever), so head over here to see her work!
Aside from organizing the shoot, I designed the florals and had SO much fun creating these arrangements! I wanted a relaxed, wild look that's perfect for the boho bride. Loose, organic arrangements are my personal favorite.
So at this point, maybe you're wondering who took all these stunning photos?! Meet Tyler on the far right, the talented photographer behind Lively Heart Photography. Tyler was all over - climbing up ladders, crouching down low, doing whatever it took to create the perfect shot - and her hard work definitely shows. Reach out to her about portraits, wedding and engagement photos and more!
Had a blast with this one and can't wait for the next opportunity to work with these lovely ladies!
